-Make sure that you are using the right detergent that is specified for your type of Dishwasher. Most of the newer models have a specific type of detergent that you should use for the best results in that dishwasher. so check and be sure that you are choosing your detergent accordingly.
-Most of the dishwashers ever made have a spray arm that looks like a fan blade, They will come off with the twist of a plastic knob or the turn of a lever. Once you remove that arm then run VERY hot water on and through it and water should drip through the small holes on the plastic arm. If the arm is clogged that is the main culprit of your dishwasher no longer performing as well as it used to.
